Granted the contracted players I’m about to list all seemed to want out so it’s unfair to beat Abdallah with that stick - my gripe is simply to do with the calibre of their replacements given the wages saved. The lot that turned out last season were shit, that’s why we got relegated, blame anyone and everyone, bottom line is those wearing the blue shirts at Northampton were poor, only exceptions were Hamer and Edmondson. I know we had 46 games and behind the scenes turmoil but it came down to one game, I was at Sixfields and felt devastated at the end due to the lack of effort, one game we needed to win and 8 outfield players didn’t give a toss. So Id rather see a unified team than a collection of overpaid individuals who don’t give a shit Actually quite positive about the upcoming season and confident a couple more additions to the squad will give us a competitive edge. So all those that keep moaning about the squad, give your a head a wobble, we are in the 4th tier, average 3000 fans and don’t have a billionaire owner, keep the faith and just maybe Frankie gets a tune out of the players more so than Wellens did Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

Although we had to make adjust financially for life in league 2 and trim down a large squad, we are signing bargain basement and cross your fingers turn out decent players. People refer to the signing of Taylor and JBB as quality players, indeed but Taylor is in the latter stages of his career and Baxter is probably in the last of the last chance saloons . We need to set off this season like a train, stay at the top end of the table and attract punters to watch otherwise it will turn , for want of a better word SHITE !!!! Surely we can compete with these clubs for signings especially given the money saved on wages since the end of last season? Taylor and Baxter are good signings but the rest are below average in my opinion. I think we are about 3 players light of a top 7 team (2 strikers 1 wide man) I think we might see more than 3 come in. Im expecting Gerrard, Byrne and 1 of the goalkeepers to move on so we could see 4, 5 or even 6 new faces before both the permanent amd loan windows SLAM SHUT! I'm probably just a bit bored these days, but I get more excitement out of the French Lads than I would some of those names. Until they walk out against MK Dons I will have never seen Benteke, Missilou or Branger play at any level. Got a name from my sources of a very hightly rated young striker, he's not been on loan anywhere yet. An average of 1 goal in 2 for his under 23 team suggests he may be worth checking out.
