I find it amazing that despite the nunber of times that he has been linked to the managers position that it has not happened yet.

My opinion is that he can imputation great into the Club but my main concern is that should it not work out.

Like Frankie Bunn and others I would hate to eventually see him leave with ill feelings

The difference this time is, IMHO, he can dictate terms because of his personal wealth.

He will stand or fall by his own decisions.

He'll tell Lemsagam to stick it if he signs players he doesn't want or is told he has to play Johan Branger and keep Hunt on the bench.

Looking forward to seeing how it'll pan out...

Has Scholes had any involvement in recent signings?

Ahhh, if that is the case there is every chance that he will beat Brian Clough's 44 day stint at Leeds

Do you think the club should jump on the Sunderland and Man City bandwagon with a behind the scenes documentary once Scholes takes over?

Play this right and the club could become Football Manager in reality

Some people can’t wait for him to fail.  If he does, who cares?  He’s the most interesting and exciting candidate we’ll have lined up.  Secure some quality from the Prem and fingers crossed we start moving up that table and add a few hundred or more to the gates.  Don’t even care if it’s United fans reminiscing

100%.

This is exciting. If people have a problem with it then they are very silly indeed.

The man has an affinity with us that is real. It is just as real as the affinity of any manager we have ever had, perhaps more so.

He he must be able to use connections to get players and players will absolutely want to work with him.

The man is a living legend in football and we should be grateful and excited that he has decided to finally take the step with us.

Whilst Scholes was undoubtedly a great player, there are plenty of people who don't see a potential manager in him. He comes across as fairly dour, hardly Mr Charisma and his loyalties currently heavily lie with a club in the division below us. None of this means he won't make a good Latics manager of course, just as being a great player doesn't mean you'll be a successful one, as John Barnes, Chris Waddle, Tony Adams, Teddy Sherringham, Alan Shearer etc have proved.

There's nothing wrong with people having that opinion

Yep. Either it clicks or it doesn't ; same as most relationships.

Biggest positive of Scholes (potentially) getting the job, would have to be potentially less interference in the playing side from board level (which there seems to be from the outside looking in). Scholes will surely want reassurances in this regard and if they are broken, would simply walk. Lemsagam would then find himself getting some pretty bad publicity in national newspapers or on Skysports due to Scholes profile in the game I suspect. Confidentiality clauses aside.

According to the Daily Mail, Scholes will sign an 18 month deal within the next 10 days.

I was hoping he'd be in ASAP,  10 days leaves little if any time to strengthen and after Saturdays performance it would give the whole club a lift.
