Do you want to bet? We've all been supporting this club long enough to never underestimate its ability to sink lower. That's not necessarily a defence of the current situation just an observation of the last 32 years of supporting us.
League one forever
I don’t understand the expectancy he’ll walk- why would he on a 3 year deal?? The far bigger question is how bad does it have to get, before Joe and Darren tell Frank - their mates time is up.
nzlatic
I keep seeing him being referred to as their mate. Are they personal friends with him or is this just because he was employed by Everton?
Lukers1
My mate went and they apparently played well. Fell to the sucker punch going for the win. We will turn this corner, one win will see is go on a run…

Anyone who thinks this is as low as we can go isn't paying attention. It is pretty much impossible to have a worse record than Unsworth, though. I reckon if there was a raffle of members of this forum and the winner was given the job, they'd have at least as good a record!

I would fully back myself to pick a team that gets a better records than Unsworth. I mean I think anyone could have beaten that Yeovil side. So id have 13 games to get a win to better him. The 0-0 at Maidenhead and Maidstone could easily have been turned into wins. Scunthorpe and Alti are other games with a bit more attacking intent we could have won.

He’s actually said that on multiple occasions and been very effusive about their relationship. Or maybe- it probably was just because they ‘know’ him. . and of all the people they ‘know’ in football they just happened to pick him without interviewing. . Sinnot (who 9 times out of ten is well informed) said he had spoken to someone close to Rothwell’s and Unsworth had been promised at least 18 months. Make of that what you will, but the idea that they won’t blindly stick by him is moot- because he should be gone already and isn’t.

PeteG
Unsworth has said on numerous occasions he knows Darren really well and has had a good relationship for years. Now, I'm not certain, but I don't believe there is any Everton connection with Darren Royle and can only assume he got to know Darren whilst he was captaining his dad's team. They are of similar age so no doubt got to know each other and probably socialised together. All this of course would be irrelevant if Unsworth was actually winning football matches but he isn't so people will quite rightly point it out and question whether a proper process of appointing him took place given it was the worst kept secret in football that Unsworth was going to take over from Shez after the takeover. Jason Turnough
Latics fan in North East who is generally concerned by current form. Unsworth has been backed by new chairman and Board but WE must see improvement in results in January or Unsworth should go or my club will be in National League North
