MAC0AFC
Looks like he is going after all then, you can all apologise whenever you want... if anyone was to apologise it would be when he goes... there is just as much uncertainty now as there was when you started the thread

archiecat
I would be loathed to lose Baxter to another league 1 club as it would appear to be more of a step sideways than forwards for the player himself. If he was to move to a decent championship club, you couldn't really fault him, he did the right thing by us in signing the contract allowing the club to benefit if he does move on. Ultimately, i want to see more Jose and not be waving goodbye
HarryBosch
Where does it say that? Read between the lines, it's obvious.... (wrong link, sorry http://www.mancheste...-before-5802023 )
oafc1955
Looks like he is going after all then, you can all apologise whenever you want... The disbelief was moreso that it was Sheff Utd, not the fact he was on his way.

pinevillawill
I'm torn on this one. Is Johnson relying on Jose to leave to bring in new faces? That's the impression I get from the MEN article. If it means we can strengthen our squad with 3/4 better-than-we've-already-got players then it may not be all that bad a move.

All the Sheffield United fans were saying that they were signin him regardless, as well as Jose Baxter. Baxter being a replacement for Kevin MacDonald who has gone to Wolves and plays exactly the same role as Baxter. Baxter is the perfect player for what they need basically. oafc_lover
Is this an ideal time to let everyone know that I have Jose Baxter match-worn home and away shirts from last season signed by the man himself. Will sell for the right price.
deyres42
Ta ta then Jose. Laschelles, Nathan Tyson, Keith Southern, Gary Madine and a keeper, any 3 of those will do as replacements

From what I saw of them on the telly on the opening day, it would make sense for them to sign Jose for this role. McDonald was their playmaker and the key player in their 4-2-3-1 formation and I was very surprised to hear that they sold him to a rival like Wolves. Despite this, I still think he could do better than League One. I'm sure that there are teams in the Championship who could fit him into their team in this position. bluehobbit
well the rumors are growing shame that vale keeper saved his effort at weekend would have liked to see him drill another goal in never seen a player so lethal from 20 yards at this level nearly all of his goals were from that range
Buckshawlatic
Considering Smith, Mvoto and Furman all moved up a level I think Baxter will be doing himself a great disservice if he moves to another league 1 club
