Hitler apparently used to have a much larger moustache, but it made wearing his gas-mask in the WW1 trenches uncomfortable, so he adopted the 'toothbrush' style. That's what I've read anyway.

Wasn't it cut that way to tickle Eva's fancy?

Couldn't resist popping back in with this.

Cameron Burgess starting tonight for Australia against England.🙂

I'll leave you with another who with the right coaching  can go to the top.

Our very own youth team right winger Alfie Atherton. Shades of Rick Holden with this lad.

Well good to see you again BP, but with all due respect to you, Burgess and Australia, playing for Australia is hardly going “to the top”.

You could say the same for George Best and Northern Ireland.

I’d never say that. I would say that Pele regarded Best as one of the greatest players of all time, and that’s good enough for me. I’d also point out that, unlike Burgess, who is a decent player, Best played at the highest level for his club and won League titles, a European Cup and if I remember rightly was European Footballer of the Year.

Didn't the ex-Latics player John Bingham (late 1960s) represent Australia? I think I've read that at least he might have been in their 1974 World Cup squad.

Interesting interview here with Bingham. He briefly discusses his time at Oldham, and there's plenty on his Australian experiences, but no confirmation as to whether he represented the nation at international level.

Missed a pen that saw us lose to Fylde though….

Nice to see you back. Stick around, it’s a lot healthier place since Unsy has gone.
