EFL Monitored Loan Agreement - News - Oldham Athletic

We seem to be under this for 3 years, from what I read here. Unbelievable, and AL can afford to buy the stadium. What a joke.

Its not for 3 years. The loan repayments are 3 years. I imagine once the club starts earning again itl relax. Id say just this window. It says in the statement that its for a small period of time

The club just said the embargo would last for a shorter period than the 3 year repayments. They didn't specify how long that period would be.

Correct but itd be ridiculous of the league to punish a team for taking a loan that was offered to everyone. Normally embargos are put in place to punish teams breaking transfer rules so can be for longer. This isn't a punishment, its just to make sure clubs don't use the loan money on players. So imo itl just be this window

Linked with a loan move for Festus Aurther from Hull. Previously of Stockport. Seem to remember someone on here recommending him a year or 2 back

We released him before he ended up at Stockport!!!

He was a youth player here who at the age of 15 looked about 40

You take out a loan you have to pay it back an embargo now means we lose out on players at the most important time of the recruitment phase.

The walls are caving in here what with this and the rent and electric bills due. We've already burned through what season ticket money we've had with the furghlough scheme it seems inevitable that it will end up with Abdallah seeing sense and cutting his loses and running (unlikely) or we will end up in Administration. Selling Bahamboula will merely be temporary respite.

Hopefully you're right and it's just this window. To be honest I'm not bothered that they took the loan. Covid was hard on football and a lot of people have stopped giving the owner money on things that might have brought in revenue outside of match day, so he will be feeling the squeeze. Which is exactly what a lot of fans, myself included, want. So it could be seen as a positive in that way.

Caolan Lavery is around a 1 in 6 striker. Not exactly prolific, but he may enable others to score

Enabling other to score is the job of the other 8-9 outfield players.

Save the wage, squad space and matchday shirt for a goalscorer.

If 1 in 6 can still be a "striker", stick Pidge up front.

Get him in on trial and watch him in training and a match or two... then make a decision

oh, that’s what we are doing 👍
