Rochdale Scramble?

Recommended Posts

After the way our fans behaved at the end at Chesterfield then its no surprise we are not getting anymore tickets. The plod won't want it personally am quite glad I'm not going it will be full of day tripping coked up AWAYDAYZBOYZ who the plod will be only too willing to start weilding batons on.

Also slightly dissapointed it's not on tv when you consider it will be probably be the biggest Derby in the division.

Depends what email address you used on the Rochdale site. If it's in OAFC's database, you could be fucked.

Don't know what they can do about it once the tickets have been purchased and collected.  Even if they did I'd be demanding to see their terms and conditions for refusal.

Not condoning plod welding batons but the bulk of the AWAYDAYZBOYZ will be the ones making it a cracking atmosphere. If it goes to form it won't be the team creating it.

No different to any other local derby in the football league then.

Rochdale don't have any obligation to give us more tickets just because demand may outstrip supply.

The way the tickets were distributed is the issue.

It’s not about ‘obligation’ though is it?

They have enough room to accommodate another thousand away fans easily. - they just don’t want to 😮

Or Rochdale fans..

I still struggle to acknowledge this as a big game for us.

Its on their admissions policy

The Club has the right to cancel any tickets purchased in the home areas of the stadium by fans of the visiting Club, without issuing a refund.

On this page

https://www.rochdaleafc.co.uk/tickets/admissions-policy/

When purchased on line you may have had to tick a box saying you have read and agree to their conditions. Don't know I didn't try. But if you did I think that is fairly cut and dried.

If you didn't you might be able to argue that it is not an implied term of your contract but I wouldn't rate your chances of a refund or readmission.

Learn the name of a number of dale players and look a bit thick and you'd get past any cursory inspection on the way in.  Celebrating the 4th Oldham goal whilst unfurling a giant banner might attract a bit more attention.

By always means create an atmosphere,  have a few drinks enjoy yourselves even taunt the locals for well you know living in Rochdale. But it becomes a problem with stuff like the below. The plod are clearly on full alert for this one some of whom will be nore than happy to start wacking people with battons.

Stuff like this

Or this.

When was the last time you saw somebody get wacked with a batton in a football ground?

Not inside but I saw plenty of plod more than happy to start away at Bury in 2019 when a group of Latics fans started making their presence known as they walked back to the town centre while walking past a pub Big away following local Derby some of them will go looking for it also see at home to Wrexham last year.

Having said that I've always said if people don't go looking for trouble then 99.9% of the time it won't come and find them.

Why are football clubs uniquely incapable of planning ahead for these fixtures and ensuring everyone who wants a ticket can get one? It’s staggering really, the ground won’t be anywhere near full and yet hundreds of Oldham fans will be denied entry or subject to police threats.

Its not like lower league football doesn’t need the money, apart from anything else!

Pathetic but standard these days sadly

But history says some people can't behave.  They have left 500 seats free in our stand as it is to accomodate the numpties

Pretty much like every town centre of a weekend. It's been ever thus.

Why would Rochdale want more away fans than home fans? Makes no sense for them.

Home office figures show during 2022/23 season only 15 oldham fans were arrested out of a total 2264 football fans.

Again only 8 was for violent disorder. In the grand scheme of things that suggest the AWAYDAYZBOYZ ain't as bad as some would have us believe.

are rochdale emailing people to say the ticket is cancelled non refunded?

if it wasnt for ticking here to agreeing to terms and conditions ld be convinced theres got to have been a GDPR breach or ten thousand gone down to achieve that.

it should about halve the number of Latics in the home sections to around 6-700ish!!
