yarddog73
Let's face it he should be in the team for tomorrow, two dire away days where we've not really created anything of note already this season and a game tomorrow he would absolutely boss, if he was included it would give the crowd a huge lift so if he's not going what are we going to gain for leaving him at home? OLDHAMADE
For all of us who are desperate to see him back in the side, knowing what he can do and what he will a League lower. It did cross my mind, do any of the team want to see him back playing and is F.B trying to keep a lid on things incase it affects morale? Have to say what a massive boost for the fans tomorrow if he was starting or on the bench
PlayItLivo
If the club want him off the books and if what Byrne has done is that bad that it constitutes gross misconduct (ie assault - intentionally breaking another players leg) then why haven't they just fired him? There would be no pay off required. The longer this goes on it just appears that he's not favoured by the owner and/or the manager, at which point he has to be given a road back into the team. deyres42
Would Byrne want to play for a manager who was so quick to side against him?

It started with the previous manager and has continued to be a thorn in everyone's side. It needs clarifying either by the owner or F. B if he still has any kind of future at the club, once this is put to bed we can all have closure and move on.
Inspiral_Carpet
The road is pretty clear. The transfer window closing will mean that Byrne will need to come to terms with the fact that he either plays in League Two or doesn’t play at all. If he’s still here, maybe he will apologise, train hard, re-integrate with OAFC management and players and go on to make a difference to the first team. It’s the best way of putting himself in the shop window and perhaps he will get what he wants in January. He has brought all this on himself through his petulant antics here and at other clubs. I can’t understand why people think that everybody else is the problem here, not Saint Jack Billy Big Bollocks who wants away because he thinks that he is too good for the fourth division.

Maybe not but he should want to play for himself. It's not like he has any other options. If he does get a chance to play, he ought to play well in spite of the manager in order to put himself in the shop window for January or next season. steveecky
Training with the youth, no matches under his belt, even if he was reinstated to the squad he wouldn’t be appearing on the pitch any time soon.

Not under Bunn no but he isn't the type of player who needs a load of games to get into stride.

Bobby Johnstone was far too good for the 4th Division, but he relished it. Edited August 24, 2018 by BP1960

Jack Byrne will never reach the highest levels of football that Booby Johnstone did. Full International caps for Scotland, played for Hibs at the highest level in Scotland and played for Man City . Scored in an FA Cup final. Winners medal for FA Cup. Byrne has a hell of a long way before he reaches any where near that standard. In his twlight years as a player played his socks off for OAFC and loved our club. He was a magician on and off the ball and also made you laugh because his antics on the pitch where very funny. You don’t see footballers with skill and talent taking the piss out of opponents on the field like he was able to do. Byrne and Johnstone should never be mentioned in the same breath. We have great memories of great players and teams over the years that have represented OAFC. It’s great that we can reflect and look back on those great players and achievements that is the history of OAFC. Pity is that you are too young to have ever experienced them. Maybe just maybe you might one day .

Ryan
Jack Byrne would’ve easily been the best player in the world if he played pre-1990.

Hands on
Interesting read the FIFA regulations on registration. Didn't realise Byrne had to be binned before end of window to register with another club ( I assume by 31st August to register with an overseas club - any contacts Abdallah). So the choices are to keep him, loan him out or if you are really vindictive sack him after 31st August. PS I'm amused by the thought that Surridge is our only striking option - where did those other goals come from?

I'm not having that. It is a FACT that the 1970 Brazil team loaded up on Woodbines, Guinness and a bucket each of mashed potatoes at half-time in the World Cup Final before going on to destroy Italy 4-1 at altitude. I do wish whippersnappers like Ryan would get their FACTS straight before comparing the lard buckets of yesteryear (Pele, Garrincha, Jairzinho, Moore, Charlton, Beckenbauer to name a few) to the finely honed running machines of today. Which of us would not rather watch today's players - who are frequently unable to trap, pass and run past opponents - pass the ball sideways and backwards while running about like headless chickens? Viva tipi tapa! Viva Ryan!
Ryan
Pele’s record includes goals against kids in the local park. Complete fraud.
