Thank fuck for he will fit in well at Bloomfield Road he's a donkey.

Seems quite old to be starting out in league 1 professionally! Strange move.

Hopefully the Kean Bryan pic is a follow up to his teaser the other day.

Hopefully a fitness test!

He's gone back to City, he's not our player, everyone is on holiday.  I can't think of any other reason he'd be there, other than the hinted at signing for us.

Blackpool are still a mess. Oyston was in court trying to free himself from the court order freezing his assets. his wife is now divorcing him, so all his actions have to be doubly checked. He's not sold an asset in 7 month since the order.
They're pretty skint at the moment, and will be for a while yet.

Interesting picture of Kean Bryan training or similar on Little Wembley. On Twitter

I don’t get this surely if Kean Bryan has gone back to Man City what the hell is he doing fitness routines on Little Wembley for unless we have secretly signed him and it’s under raps until Wellens gets back.

iSeen some excellent goalkeepers in the past without specialist coaching here.

OK for youth, but not needed for established  keepers IMO.

It may be a luxury we can ill afford so I see your point but it's a position that needs competition just as much as any outfield one. If that competition isn't relevant then a coach may just keep a first-choice goalie on his toes.

May well not be needed for established keepers but does that stop a coach trying to change him.

I think it will be a season of consolidation.  Play-off hopes are a bit too optimistic.

We have a fractured camp, no real statement of intent and we'll lack the players.

One season of mid-table shitness, get a squad in place, and go again for the season after..

We can't possibly say until we see what squad we've got in August....

A season of consolidation (or mediocrity..) in the division below where we usually aim for consolidation (mediocrity) might push many of our dwindling support over the edge.

Wellens and AL should be looking for players now that are going to get us back up instantly.

One season of consolidation leads to another and then another and then another and before you know it we've spent 21 years in the same division.

None of this "aiming for the play-offs" bollocks either.  We should be aiming to go straight up and settle for the play-offs if we have to.

Probably nothing more than a final sign off before he returns to them - ie it probably doesn't bode well to simply return players to their clubs with a note saying "sorry we broke him!" ..

That said, and this is literally a pie in the sky comment .. does anyone really believe he'll pull on a sky blue shirt anytime soon? They're not that kind of club anymore imho! .. maybe he's sat down with someone (Agent/RW/PG/whoever) and realises he needs to put himself in the shop window a bit! I know our 'window' needs more than just cleaning .. but he may believe that he's better getting a decent - this is the tricky bit - season under his belt having been told he's a guarantee on the team sheet?

Who knows? Is it too early to dream yet?

I thought the general feeling was, when our retained list was brought out, that we had the basis of a good team for L2 with a couple of additions and we were on our to promotion by Xmas.......now we seem destined to have a long term gig in L2 purgatory.

Why do you think a season of being shit would improve our chances the year after?

Need to get the right squad in place and keep them for 2 years. Going to be a big turnover i'd suspect, a lot of new players again and some individuals who are against the manager may still be kicking around.

If we get off to a horrific start  he'll be promptly ousted then survival will be the only focus. A year of stability is crucial. If we fluke it and go up then magic, we'll probably have a bounce to put us into the top 10 of L1

Not a chance we go back up first time.

We shouldn't even be discussing going back up for we shouldn't have gone down in the first place, Automatic is the minimum requirement after what was a bloody shambles from Wellens.

Think it depends on the turnover of players between now and August (with a few beyond).

Currently we should be aiming to go up as Champions, we took 4 points off all the other relegated sides last season. The other relegated sides, those in the playoffs plus a couple more will be decent competition but currently we should be favourites for the title. The bookies currently have us as joint 7th favourites for both the title and promotion.

Having said that it's not going to be disastrous if we finish mid-table. I can't see Wellens lasting if we are struggling in October.

The players who are kept on should realise that they are going to need to work their bollocks off to get near the playoffs. If they don't we might as well start planning our trips to Salford City.
