All the work preseason had to be done in truncated period I think anyone who has been monitoring media output since Thursday will be more reassured that things are improving and will continue to do so Lots of slack rather than some needed. New guy Alan has been here with Mikey in the past. Uploading a picture via your phone isn’t hard work, it’s amateur hour. Team news being 15 mins late and uploaded via your phone? Jesus. Pictures being used by the club volunteer as your sole use of content?? Get the camera out, get in position and get recording some content. The engagement rate will skyrocket. The lack of content during takeover day was abysmal… why should the club rely on a local paper with a vertical iPhone broadcast on Facebook?? They really need to step it up quickly if they want to get in line with the message of promoting the club to the town. No pre-season training footage, limited interviews with players and coaching staff… Match reports should always be uploaded on the whistle, that is the bare minimum in the industry. It’s taken about 3 hours during pre-season games. With no EFL cushion to rely on for highlights and write-ups, fans who can’t get to games are going to be left in the dark. Why can teams such as Stalybridge or Hyde manage it but we can’t? Look at Stockport’s output. That is the minimum we need to be aiming at. I am hopeful standards will be raised with a professional board in situ now and hopefully we can get some staff in who can get us back to a professional level. deyres42
Everybody was trying to force the club under until two days ago so can't really blame the club for scaling things back on the engagement front.
SweeperKeeper
You'd hope Kevin Roberts should be able to provide some advice and contacts when it comes to media engagement and marketing.

Come on Eyresey, if the club had tried to engage with the fans instead of treating them with disdain and contempt it might just have eased the ire and anger towards them. He has a point though, like the playing side other areas within the club will need a complete rebuild.

Yes, like so much else in the club there is a need for more resources.

Our board would put most Championship clubs to shame, why oh why do we have a squad that would struggle in the Evo Stick North, on a serious note are we paying for the privilege of having these esteemed directors? If so it's no wonder there's no budget left for players.

Ackey
Unsworth talked about that a little here, with the Oldham Times. Also mentions how Frank was down the training ground fixing a gate. They've made mistakes and are not perfect, but there's so many positives to be had if we just take a deep breath and accept this takes time.
